Choices for your Loved Ones

Does your loved one need a change of scenery?

Are you the caregiver for a loved one? Do you often wonder if you are providing adequate care for them? If things get worse, do you worry about what you would do? In order to better assess your situation, ask yourself this question: does your loved one have difficulty and need help with any of the following?

  • Eating
  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Toileting (being able to get on and off the toilet and perform personal hygiene functions)
  • Transferring (being able to get in and out of bed or a chair without assistance)
  • Maintaining continence (being able to control bladder and bowel functions)

  • Companionship and mental support. This is a fundamental and much needed IADL for daily living
  • Transportation and shopping
  • Preparing meals
  • Managing a household
  • Managing medications
  • Communicating with others
  • Managing finances

If you answered “yes” to these questions, perhaps it’s time to consider placing your loved one in an environment that can provide adequate care and the necessary social supports for them to lead a purposeful life.

Ballou Home for the Aged provides such supports. After reading through our website, if you have further questions, please contact us. We can answer any questions that you may have and arrange for a personal tour of our facility.
