Certified Infection Preventionist
Ruth A. Daly, RN
Ruth has been with Ballou Home since 2016. She has a diverse background, having worked in the corporate world as well as in the Health Sector. She received a BA degree in accounting and an MBA in Operations Management from Bryant University. She worked for several corporations, ending with the Cooley Group that did roofing among other things. Cooley sent her to school to learn how to do roofing, after all as Ruth says, “I was selling roofing services and products, so Cooley felt I should know all there is to know about roofing. I can even put up a roof, if I had to!” Ruth earned her ARN-RN from CCRI after some “false” starts earlier on in her career. She began pre-med studies at URI but dropped out after the birth of her first child. She later returned to Rhode Island College but had to drop out there, also, because of the birth of her second child. She started her career as RN at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and transitioned to nursing home care, working at several nursing homes (Hattie Ide Chaffee, Cortland Place, and Holiday Retirement Home) before coming to Ballou. Her hobbies include sewing, hiking, and Revolutionary War re-enactor.
My background in the corporate world as a manager and customer service representative has served me well in the health sector by sharpening my communication and interactive skills with residents.
